The Romantik Hotel Zur Glocke is located in the heart of Trier's pedestrian zone and is a real gem that combines history and modern comfort. The building, whose foundation walls date back to the 11th century, was built in 1567 and has served as an inn since 1803. After extensive renovations from 2012 to 2016, the hotel was reopened as a romantic hotel in November 2016. Most of the lovingly and individually furnished rooms offer a wonderful view of Trier Cathedral and invite you to enjoy a relaxing stay in Germany's oldest city.
The Hotel Zur Glocke is not only remarkable because of its age, but also because of its connection to Trier's history. The listed building houses a historic vaulted cellar, which dates back to the cathedral's fortifications from the 11th century and was probably used to store wine. Today, the hotel invites its guests to linger in the charming rooms and suites spread over three floors and enjoy the special character of the house.
Regional cuisine is served in the hotel's own tavern, accompanied by an exquisite selection of wines that reflect the tradition of the Moselle as one of the most important wine-growing regions in the world. Wine lovers also have the opportunity to choose from a selection of over 150 wines and sparkling wines at the partner company "Oechsle Wein- & Fischhaus" and get to know the diversity of Moselle wines during a wine tasting.
